The College Board’s Advanced Placement Program recently recognized 45 Deer Park High School juniors and seniors as AP Scholars for 2019, an honor granted for college-level achievement in AP courses and exams.

Named AP Scholars with Distinction – for receiving an average score of at least 3.5 on all AP exams and scores of 3 or higher on five or more of those exams – were seniors Benjamin Amster, Zubaer Mohiuddin, Omar Rahim, Sameer Riaz, Matthew Rosati and Tasfia Shaikh.    

Named AP Scholars with Honor – for receiving an average score of at least 3.25 on all AP exams and scores of 3 or higher on four or more of those exams – were juniors Ushima Chowdhury, Jasleen Kaur and Huda Nawaz; and seniors Megan Curry, Matthew Farquharson, Alexander Glancy, Aidan Maggio, Vincent Oddo, Christian Ortiz, Alisha Suhail and Gavin Thomas.         

Named AP Scholars – for receiving scores of 3 or higher on 3 or more AP exams – were juniors Sameem Ahmadzai, Isabella Coon, Gianna Giffone, Matthew Heinen, James Hope, Kaitlyn Incandela, Jarif Kabir, Kamran Khan, Taylor Korsiak, Victoria Mung, Salar Saeed, Steven Shames and Brandon Yasin; and seniors Nisa Bayrak, Diana Damian, David Farahmandpour, Sabrina Felipe, Michael Greene, Maxwell Hofstetter, Joshua Rivera, Alyssa Robb, Emanuel Saladino, Kristin Schuster, Jack Serra, Trevor Sheehan, Anthony Vassallo, Jennifer Wern and Purnava Zakaria.
