The high school’s theater students recently presented their thrilling production of Agatha Christie’s “Murder on the Orient Express,” directed by Kristen Wallace and featuring innovative set design by Alex Mesimeris.
he talented cast included Kayla Bennet as Head Waitress, Louis Bianco as Hercule Poirot, Gohkdeniz Ozdemir as Col. James Arbuthnot and Samuel Rachett, Ciara Boltz as Mary Debenham, Jennifer Wern as Helen Hubbard, Karen Cochran and Dianna Rainone as Heather MacQueen, Oliver Curry as Constantine Bouc, Makenzie Caldone as Princess Natalya Dragomiroff, Alexa Belotti and Megan Bush as Greta Ohlsson, Isabella Serrano as Michel the Conductor, Madi Steddick as Countess Andrenyi, Oscar Russo as Daisy Armstrong, and Bailey Aguilar and Prince Bush as the Princess’ Doggies.
“The play was challenging because it was mostly set on a train and we had to design the set and the actors’ movements around a set that showed the structure of a train,” Wallace said. “The characters were from England, Sweden, France, Russia, Scotland, Hungary and New Jersey, and the students did an amazing job of developing their accents and really portraying the characters they were playing – some real, some fake – all while committing to a murder mystery where they also had to carefully only reveal certain details of their character. As always I’m so proud of the energy and dedication of all of our students.”
