Top 10 Seniors Honored at Breakfast

Recognizing exceptional academic achievement, the high school’s recent Top 10 Breakfast honored the 10 seniors with the highest grade point averages among this year’s graduating class. The special annual ceremony also served to announce the valedictorian and salutatorian.
Kyle Devine, ranked first with the highest GPA, was announced as valedictorian of the Class of 2014. “We will be hearing about Kyle for years to come,” guidance counselor Jessica Gordon said of the star student during the ceremony.

Ranking second was future salutatorian Andreas Stamatakis. The other students in the top 10 were Yasameen Saleem ranked third, Nasratullah Sultany fourth, Victoria Trovato fifth, Richard Jacullo sixth, Christina Catanzaro seventh, Daniela Zabbatino eighth, Nicholas Vitale ninth and Ebne Rafi 10th.

“As principal, I’d like to congratulate all 10 of you, and thank you and your families for making this a better school,” Principal James Cummings told the assembled seniors. “You’re here because of your grades, but thank you also for what you do outside the classroom, which is where you make your mark. I wish you all the best and can’t wait to hear what you accomplish in the future.”

The ceremony, held in the school’s library, included a celebratory breakfast for these high-achieving students and their families.
