High school student Isaiah Edwards was recently honored with an achievement certificate at the Suffolk County Anti-Bias Task Force’s annual awards convocation at the W.H. Rogers County Legislature Building in Smithtown. The Task Force, co-chaired by Rev. JoAnn Barrett and Rabbi Dr. Steven A. Moss and organized under the auspices of Suffolk County Executive Steven Bellone, is an organization that works to combat racism and prejudice in the county’s communities.

Edwards was recognized as a role model by the district earlier this year for his dedication to volunteer work with Deer Park special needs children, and is considering a career as a teacher.
