For the fourth year in a row, students and staff at John Quincy Adams raised more than $6,000 this year for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital as part of their participation in the annual Math-A-Thon fundraising program.

The students completed Math-A-Thon Funbooks by solving math problems, and their sponsors made donations based on how many problems or pages the students finished. Students who raised $35 or more in sponsorship pledge donations were awarded commemorative T-shirts.

According to Math-A-Thon coordinator and math lab specialist Marianna Grieco, the school has raised almost $24,000 to date for the hospital. “We are proud and happy to help children and their families at St. Jude,” she said. “And the Math-A-Thon problems have helped our students become better at math.”
