Six high school journalism students and Associate Principal Brian Norton recently attended a mock press conference with state assemblymen Chad A. Lupinacci and Andrew P. Raia, held at the South Huntington Public Library. The students had the opportunity to use their acquired skills to ask the legislators some tough questions.

“We are proud to see such a dedicated interest among high school students in the field of journalism as well as the teachers who are committed to helping them succeed,” said Raia. “The media is a very important component of our governing system, and it works with elected officials to make sure that the people are informed about the inner workings of government. We believe having this type of first-hand experience is a valuable addition to classroom lessons.”
