Hippotherapy Happiness for SADD Students

High school SADD Club students took a trip to Pal-O-Mine Equestrian in Islandia on May 8 to meet the horses used in the center’s hippotherapy program for individuals with disabilities. The students learned about Pal-O-Mine’s equipment and the care and feeding of the horses,  took a tour of the facility, and even got a chance to see the center’s mini-farm with goats, sheep and donkeys.

“The students were impressed by how docile the horses were,” said adviser Janet Werner. “For many, it was their first time being so close to a horse.”
