The district has named Bradley Murphy as its new curriculum associate for fine and performing arts, replacing the retired Dr. Jeff Dailey.

Murphy comes to Deer Park from East Moriches Middle School, where he served as band director and teacher for eight years. He served as a chairperson of the Hampton Educator Association Middle School Band last year, and also worked as a private music teacher, preparing students for NYSSMA performances

An alumnus of Commack High School’s International Baccalaureate music program, Murphy earned his bachelor’s degree in music education at Hofstra University, where he was a founding member of the Hofstra University Saxophone Quartet. At Five Towns College, he earned a Master of Arts degree in music with concentration on audio engineering, digital media and MIDI sequencing. He also holds advanced certificates in school leadership from Stony Brook University.

“I am very excited to learn about everything Deer Park has to offer our students and community,” said Murphy, who resides in South Setauket.
