Seventeen superlative high school students were honored by teachers and administrators at the Breakfast for Champions, held in the school library on Nov 12. At the event, awarded biannually each fall and spring, student champions were selected by each of the school’s departments, as were three additional champions chosen by principals and a teacher.
“Breakfast for Champions is an opportunity for teachers and administrators to honor students who have impacted them in some way,” said Jeanne Kozlowsky, the school’s associate principal of curriculum. “The event recognizes students who demonstrate excellent conduct and character on a daily basis, work on achieving their personal best inside and outside the classroom, and show an innate compassion to help others.”
The fall 2015 Breakfast for Champions honorees, all presented with plaques, were seniors Priyesh Bhatt (guidance), Kathryn Block (technology), Jenna Boccabella (performing arts), Julia Boss (science), Rodney Conte (Principal’s Award), Megan Hammond (art), Shihab Howlader (family and consumer science) and Rose Snyder (math); juniors John Galaor (athletics), Joshua A. Singh (business), and Lukendjor Souvernaud (English as a new language/world language); sophomores Austin Ciejka (Teacher’s Award), Kasey Dorney (physical education) and Fabiha Khan (social studies); and freshmen Dana Ali (health), Steven Gassert (Associate Principal’s Award) and Shannon Theiling (English language arts).
