Students in the high school's Students Against Destructive Decisions club paid a warm holiday visit to clients at the Our Lady of Consolation Nursing & Rehabilitative Care Center in West Islip on Dec. 16. The SADD students sang carols, held a holiday trivia contest and interviewed the clients, asking them what Christmas was like when they were children.
“Our students learned the importance of giving back to the community,” said SADD adviser Janet Werner. “They had fun mingling and sharing stories with the seniors. It was gratifying to see the compassion and respect our students showed to these important members of our community.”
