At the March 22 Board of Education meeting, five SCOPE Awards for Excellence winners were recognized: district office non-instructional aide Danielle Aiken (in the Support Staff category), Board trustee Al Centamore (School Board Service), JFK Associate Principal Shaun McLeod (Administrator Service) and high school science teacher Janet Werner (Teacher Service), as well as Community Service award winner and Texas Roadhouse owner Tony Martinez, who supports numerous school activities and provides gift certificates for the district’s Students of the Month.

Certificates of appreciation were presented to the honorees by Superintendent of Schools Eva J. Demyen. They were previously recognized at the annual SCOPE awards dinner held on March 14.
