Robert Woolsey is the new plant facilities administrator at the district. Since July, he has taken charge of a busy buildings and grounds department that just finished the first phase of extensive bond work over the summer, including new turf field and renovated chorus room at the high school, new lockers at Robert Frost Middle School, a renovated library and new parking lot at John F. Kennedy Intermediate School, and a new roof and parking lot at May Moore Primary School. He also oversaw the refinishing of floors in the Town of Babylon’s Deer Park Community Center, which hosts youth and senior citizen activities in the district’s former Memorial School building.

“I came to Deer Park because they are progressively moving forward with their grounds and buildings, conducting preventative maintenance and taking care of things,” said Woolsey, a Kings Park resident who previous worked as a facilities director in the Kings Park, Shoreham and Smithtown school districts. “We have a plan going forward for the future, including a lot of capital projects, and my goal is just to make sure the kids are happy, healthy and safe.”
