At the districtwide International Poetry Festival on April 27, students of all ages from the ENL and world language programs recited original poems in their native languages and sang songs like “It’s a Small World” and “Love Train” using sign language, cultural props and their individual countries’ flags. Some students even came dressed in their countries’ traditional attire.

“It is so important that our students feel proud of their heritage and are given the opportunity to share their culture and thoughts with their peers,” said ENL teacher Marcella Biordi.

“The Poetry Festival was the perfect place to bring poetry and song together," said ENL teacher Vanessa Pizzo.
