Lauren King’s fourth-grade class at JFK enjoyed their Thanksgiving early this year with a special cross-cultural feast. The students and their families celebrated by sharing foods from their various cultures with their classmates, feasting on empanadas, macarona bechamel, tres leches and lasagna alongside traditional American favorites like turkey, gravy and mashed potatoes.
