Kaylee Nguyen, a fifth-grader at JFK, was recently named a finalist in the annual Women’s History Art Contest sponsored by the New York State Assembly. Nguyen was honored at the fifth annual Women of Distinction Award Ceremony and presented with a certificate of merit, prizes and an enlarged poster of her contest entry. For the contest, Nguyen chose to draw Judith Heumann, an American disability rights activist.

“We are so proud of Kaylee’s hard work,” said art teacher Briana Nussbaum.
