Frost Holds Weeklong Celebration of Languages and Cultures thumbnail119132
The Cultural Diversity Committee at Robert Frost recently planned a weeklong celebration of cultural diversity to coincide with World Languages and Cultural Awareness Month, including a cultural diversity poster contest; cafeteria menus translated into Chinese, French, Malayalam, Spanish and Turkish by several of the school’s bilingual students; and daily morning announcements which included information on several cultures and languages represented in the school and the Deer Park community. These announcements – which featured languages such as Bengali, Chinese, Haitian Creole, Spanish, Turkish and Urdu – included cultural and geographical facts as well as language mini-lessons, and ended with a song representing each culture.
