Three young student-athletes from Deer Park – senior Bryan Guerriero and freshman Christopher DiDomenico from the high school, and Robert Frost seventh-grader Reyna Williams – participated in the Special Olympics Long Island Spring Games North, held May 1 at Walt Whitman High School in Huntington.

All three students competed in the softball throw event, marking Deer Park’s first time in the Special Olympics.

“It was an honor to witness the talents of our amazing students in a forum that has never been possible before,” said Board of Education Vice President Donna Marie Elliott. “We are all looking forward to seeing our team grow, and to possibly one day host a Special Olympics event here in Deer Park.”
