Student Banking & Money Management Program

May 11, 2009

Dear Parent/Guardian:

In our continued efforts to provide meaningful life skills programming for our Special Education students; the Office of Pupil Personnel Services in conjunction with our Special Education Department will be hosting a Student Banking & Money Management Program through Chase Bank in Deer Park on Wednesday June 3rd, 2009.

The program will run from 6:30pm -8:30pm at the Deer Park branch of Chase Bank located at 615 Grand Blvd, Deer Park NY 11729.  Students will be provided an overview of banking procedures, money management and an opportunity to open accounts at the bank, free of charge.  Parents/guardians are required to attend this valuable program as all account paperwork must be signed by the student’s legal guardian.

A light dinner and refreshments will be provided at the bank during the program for all who attend.

Students who attend the program will receive an extra credit assignment that evening at the bank; which if they choose to complete, is to be turned into their classroom teacher at JFK or to their Math teacher at Robert Frost Middle School, Abraham Lincoln or Deer Park High School by Monday June 8, 2009.  The banking extra credit assignment can be used to help increase their quarter four grade.

We hope you will decide to join us for this very informative and valuable program.
