JUNIOR ACHIEVEMENT HIGH SCHOOL HEROES PROGRAM

The Business Education Department sponsored a school/industry partnership called the Junior Achievement of New York High School Heroes Program this spring. Twenty Deer Park High School students were trained in basic business principles by the Junior Achievement of New York organization over a course of several sessions. Those high school business students then spent the next six weeks travelling down to our John F. Kennedy Intermediate School to teach our 5th grade students about basic business principles such as what a corporation is. It was a great experience for our high school students to impart their knowledge of business to our younger students and to develop their teaching skills.
