Ducklings for Infants and Toddlers
Ducklings is a water orientation class for infants and toddlers 9-36 months old with a responsible adult partner accompanying them in the water. This class benefits your child by helping them to be comfortable and confident around water while developing basic skills that can later translate to swimming readiness. Adults who accompany a child in the water for this class will learn techniques for securely holding and supporting a child in the water. Anyone over age 16 may accompany the child if a parent cannot attend, in fact it is recommended that anyone who may spend time in the water with your child observe and or take a turn participating in this course with them so that consistant water safety becomes a united effort.
Swim diapers are required to maintain a clean and safe swimming environment for all bathers and for the health and safety of your child if your child is not potty trained. Bathing suits with an elastic leg may be worn over the swim diaper - NO REGULAR DIAPERS WILL BE ALLOWED IN THE POOL. Appropriate bathing attire is required of ALL participants.
There are changing table stations in each the men's and women's locker room. Please do not change your child on the bleachers or out in the open on the pool deck, please use the locker room areas.
Bring an upbeat, positive, easy going attitude. Your child will learn from your reactions; if you get into the water and wince or make an unpleasant face when you are splashed your child will learn that water is "yucky" and may not fully enjoy the activities in class. Positive reinforcement is the most effective method of encouraging your child, make an effort to tell them how well they're doing and show them by being excited about every positive reaction or effort they display. If you get water in your face, smile and act like you like it! Your child will learn to like it too!

Please give the child's name, age and a contact telephone number in either a voicemail or email message, and don't forget to mention which class you would like to enroll in.
Registration and payment will be completed at the first class. This registration procedure applies ONLY to the Ducklings program.

September 18th-November 20th NO CLASS October 9th & November 6th
Evening Class: Wednesdays 6:30-7:00 PM
September 22nd-November 17th NO CLASS October 13th
Enrollment Fees:
Deer Park Resident $40 per adult/child pair
Non-Resident $80 per adult/child pair
