Wet Ball

This program was new last summer.  It is for students entering grades 6-9.  Instructors will guide students to develop Wetball skills including advanced treading water techniques, dribbling, passing, core body strength and balance exercises, game rules and will facilitate game play.  Enrollment is limited to candidates who meet the pr-rquisities listed below.  Potential participants who have a fear of deep water, or who lack physical endurance treading water will NOT enjoy this program even if they are otherwise excellent swimmers.  All potential participants must contact Aquatic director Jeanne-Marie kavanagh to schedule an evaluation and will successfully enroll in the program upon completion of these pre-requisites:


> Show proof of grade level (This program is for students entering grade 6-9 only so your school ID or report card from grade 5-8 will be perfect)

>Jump into deep water, swim to the surface, turn around, level off and swim 10 feet to safety.

>Swim the front crawl non-stop a minimum of 2 pool lengths (50 meters)

>Tread water for a minimum of 1 minute using combined arm and leg movements, and for a minimum of 30 seconds using leg movements ONLY.

Mondays and Wednesdays 6:00-7:00 PM July 12th - August 4th

Enrollment Fee:  Deer Park Resident $40     Non-Resident $80
