Deer Park Elementary Students Celebrate the Start of a Big Adventure

Deer Park’s young elementary students celebrated exciting moving-up ceremonies this month, honoring graduating second graders at John Quincy Adams Primary School on June 5 and May Moore Primary School on June 3, as well as fifth graders at John F. Kennedy Intermediate School on June 9. The ceremonies recognized students’ accomplishments and marked important milestones as they prepared to begin the next chapter of their educational journeys this fall.
Selected students were presented with certificates and awards recognizing their achievements, while family members, teachers and staff gathered to wish the graduates success in the years ahead.
“Moving to a new school can feel like a big adventure,” JFK Principal Kelly Benson told the second graders at JQA and May Moore. “As you get ready for third grade, come with an open mind and a brave heart. You’re going to learn new things, make new friends and have so many exciting experiences. We will be ready to welcome you with open arms in September.”
