Deer Park is celebrating its love for the arts with new murals installed beneath the Deer Park Avenue LIRR train overpass. They were created by members of the Deer Park Arts Council and Babylon Citizens Council on the Arts, BACCA President Ron Becker and Deer Park High School art teacher Rebecca Yackel, alongside two of the high school’s alumni, Saawariya Shahriar and Nabila Sultana, and current junior Reanissa Norton. The artists worked on this project throughout the end of the 2025–2026 school year and into the summer.

The murals feature the themes “Deer Park Loves the Arts” and “Deer Park Proud,” celebrating the creativity, community and pride that make Deer Park special.

After months of planning, designing and painting, the completed murals were officially unveiled on Sept. 12, bringing a vibrant new artistic presence to one of Deer Park’s most visible community spaces.
