Deer Park High School hosted its annual Trades Fair on May 28, giving students in technology, business and career-focused classes the opportunity to explore careers in the skilled trades and technical industries.
Coordinated by School/Industry Partnership coordinator Jill Perry-Eising, the event featured professionals from a variety of industries including plumbing, electrical work, HVAC, automotive technology, advanced manufacturing, marine engineering, event production, scaffolding and entrepreneurship.
Students had the opportunity to speak directly with industry professionals about career pathways, apprenticeships, training programs, certifications, and employment opportunities in high-demand fields.
Participating organizations included Local 1 NYC Plumbers Union, IBEW Local 25, Suffolk Community College, Lincoln Technical School, Eagle Scaffolding Services, Event Pros, BoomZeal Enterprise and Horizon C&C.
“The Trades Fair reflects Deer Park High School’s continued commitment to career readiness and exposing students to a wide range of post-secondary opportunities,” Perry-Eising said.
