Under the guidance of art teacher Laurie Schwartz, high school students and Deer Park Junior Community Association members Aniqa Azgar. Mohammad Fahad, Gabriella Morace and Sasha Rico recently volunteered as painters to create a Tiny Library at the Joseph Piagentini Memorial Playground at Fabio Buttitta Memorial Park. Their hard work was celebrated at and unveiling and dedication ceremony at the park on July 24.

“The kids did an amazing job on such short notice,” said DPJRCA Chairperson Rosaria Luppy. “The Tiny Library was built to promote literacy while honoring our fallen law enforcement heroes and to thank those who continue to serve our community with distinction every day.”
