As part of a Black History Month lesson by social studies teacher Maureen Vecchia, seventh graders at Robert Frost analyzed quotes from inspirational and influential African Americans and engaged in meaningful classroom discussion.
“The purpose of the History Makers lesson was to provide students with a cultural appreciation of inspiring and influential African Americans and to broaden their knowledge of Black history,” Vecchia said.
