Facilities & Grounds Committee - 7:30pm
Mission Statement: To maintain and improve the quality of our infrastructure to promote a greater learning environment for our constituents.
This committee meets to determine where our available capital funds can best be utilized. We examine all of our buildings and the grounds that encompass them. We forecast our project needs and we get the projects off the waiting lists and into the hands of the contractors that physically do the work. Updates are provided from our maintenance foreman and from our assistant superintendent for business. Our underlying goal is our mission statement, "To maintain and improve the quality of our infrastructure to promote a greater learning environment for our constituents."
Wellness Committee (held during school hours)
Our main objective is to support our school district in its safety needs and requirements by insuring strict adherence to all federal, state and local rules and regulations.
Our committee consists of administrators and safety professionals whose role is to have oversight responsibility regarding health and safety issues and will report to the Board of Education and superintendent as required.
Special Education Committee - 6:00pm
The Special Ed committee is a team made up of parents, teachers, administrators and Board members. Together we will look at innovative ways to improve special ed in our district. We want to give the teachers the tools they need to help develop these children live up to their potential. Socialization groups, special needs sport teams and field days are some of the ideas were looking into. The Special Education Parent Faculty Club (SEPFC) will also be holding fundraisers to support our children. If you have a special needs child, we encourage you to join us monthly with new ideas and goals to help every child in our district.
Diversity & Inclusion Committee - 7:00pm
The Diversity & Inclusion Committee is a committee made up of Board members, Administrators, teachers, and members of the Deer Park Community at-large. Deer Park is a very diverse community filled with people of unique backgrounds and cultures. In building towards a "ONE DEER PARK" mantra, we take pride in knowing that our collective differences make us a stronger community. This committee is an inclusive group and seeks to reflect the ideas and values of all members of the community, regardless of race, color, religion, gender, nationality, gender expression, national origin, disability, marital status, sexual orientation, or age.
Technology Committee - 7:00pm
Mission Statement: To shape the way technology is implemented in the Deer Park School system. Technology is not only a tool that will help students learn, but also a skill that students should have a grasp on upon graduating from our schools.
