Three Deer Park High School seniors – Lauren Marable, Onwuka Offiah and Jaidyn Schabe – were recently named Commended Students in the 2026 National Merit Scholarship Program, recognized nationwide for high academic achievement. Their excellent scores placed them among the top 50,000 of students who entered the competition by taking the 2024 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.

“I am incredibly proud of these three students for being recognized by the National Merit Scholarship Program for their outstanding performance on the PSAT,” Principal Charlie Cobb said. “This honor reflects not only their academic talent, but also the dedication, perseverance and hard work they consistently demonstrate. Their accomplishment is a testament to their commitment to excellence, and they serve as role models for the entire Deer Park High School community.”
